The Beginning

So here I begin my first blog, obviously not a professional, but i'm going to try my best!
I leave for the country of Uganda in exactly one week and I don't know exactly how to put into words my feelings. Maybe I could describe it as mixture of amazement, excitement, nervousness and I can't believe this is happening! Truly it still hasn't set in that i'm getting to do what I love and am passionate about, what I know God has truly called me to do.  There is something intoxicating about it, like you're in a dream. Oh I know that there are going to be times when it's really tough and i'm tired and I just want to go home to all that is familiar, but then i'll remember why i'm doing what i'm doing, to bring hope to the hopeless. Knowing that will make it worth the long flights, unreliable power, irregular internet, eating who knows what that is (better not to ask) and the scorpions in your suitcase. I hope to be able to capture as much as possible all that I see and experience, but no promises. I desire as well that some of you will be feel challenged and prompted to go out and do something that will bring hope to the hopeless, that will allow God to use you for your purpose here on earth.
*No gauarntee on how frequent my updates will be, no idea when i'll have interenet!!
